Ohio Adoption Grant Program

Thank you for being an adoptive parent!

Effective April 7, 2023, the Ohio Adoption Grant Program gives you the opportunity to apply for a one-time payment.

  • Ohioans who adopt can apply for a $10,000 one-time payment.
  • Those who adopt a child they’ve been fostering can apply for a $15,000 one-time payment.
  • If the child has one or more special needs (as defined in the law) prior to the adoption finalization, the parent can apply for a one-time payment of $20,000.

To start the application process, an eligible adoptive parent will need to create an account with MyOhio (OHID).

When ready click the “Launch” button to begin the application process. Then click the “Create Account” button to begin the process.

For more detailed information, please review the Ohio Adoption Grant Community User Guide This user guide is a helpful tool that will walk the adoptive parent through the application process.
